About FieldEdge Ag

I'm not from agriculture.
I came to it through the data.

I'll be straight with you: I'm not a farmer. I came at agricultural inputs from the outside — through an engineering background and a habit of asking whether the numbers actually work. What I found was a small set of products with more independent research behind them than almost anything else in the input space, sold by an industry that mostly didn't want to talk about the data. So I started doing that.

My Story

I started looking at agricultural inputs the way I'd look at any system — does the data hold up, does the cost math work, does the manufacturer stand behind it.

The reason I started looking at all was simple: I kept hearing the same frustration from people I knew in farming and grounds management. Spray programs that needed re-application. Irrigation that ran long and still left dry spots. Crops or turf that looked tired by mid-July when they should have been thriving. Different operations, same story.

"At $2.04 per acre, the question stopped being 'does this work' and became 'why isn't everyone using this.'"

So I went looking for what the independent research said. Not the manufacturer brochures — the actual field studies. What I kept coming back to was APSA-80 and Nutriplant: 41 universities, 30 states, multi-year IRF trials, growers like Stan Evans on twenty consecutive seasons. That kind of evidence base is rare in the inputs space. I wasn't expecting it.

I started FieldEdge Ag because once I'd done that homework, it didn't feel right to keep it to myself. Most growers and superintendents don't have time to read multi-year IRF studies between equipment breakdowns and weather windows. I do. And I'd rather lay the data out plainly, walk through the cost math with you, and let you decide than pretend I'm something I'm not.

I'm not going to tell you I understand your operation better than you do — I don't, and you'd see through it in five minutes. What I can do is bring outside eyes to a question you might not have time to dig into yourself: is there an evidence-backed way to get more out of every input pass? For these specific products, in these specific conditions, the data says yes. I'd like to show you what it says about your operation.

My Approach
Data first. Pressure never.
Every consultation starts with your acreage, crops, and current challenges. I'll share the IRF data relevant to your situation and run the ROI numbers. You decide what makes sense.

How I Work

Three things that guide
every conversation.

01
Data before pitch
I'll share the IRF research, the weed control studies, and the real grower results before I mention an order. If the numbers don't make sense for your operation, I'll tell you that too. I'd rather you trust me than buy from me on bad information.
02
Your numbers, not averages
I'll walk you through how the IRF research applies to your acreage and crop — using the published numbers, your local commodity price, and a transparent set of assumptions you can challenge or change. The IRF average is 17 bu/acre on corn; your number depends on soil type, current compaction, and how you're managing inputs now. I'd rather you push back on an assumption before you spend money than after.
03
The guarantee removes the risk
180 days. Full satisfaction guarantee on every product. If you apply it and it doesn't perform for your situation, you get a full exchange or refund. I lead every first conversation with this because it matters — a first-time buyer shouldn't carry the risk of trying something new.

Why These Products

What the evidence
kept pointing to.

There are hundreds of adjuvants and foliar programs on the market. Most have limited independent data, no long-term grower track record, and short or nonexistent satisfaction guarantees. APSA-80 and Nutriplant kept standing out because the evidence is genuinely different.

30+ years. 41 universities. IRF multi-year field studies. Growers who've used the same product for 20 consecutive seasons and still reorder. A 180-day guarantee the manufacturer stands behind unconditionally. That combination is rare in agricultural inputs — I went looking for it specifically and didn't find another product line that came close.

The cost is part of why the math is hard to argue with. At $2.04 per acre for APSA-80 and $9.76 for Nutriplant AG, the breakeven yield improvement is less than 3 bushels per acre on corn. The documented average is 17. That's a risk profile I'm comfortable putting in front of any grower or superintendent.

Why This Product Line Stood Out
41 independent universities tested it
Not one promotional study. 41 universities and 28 independent ag stations across 30 states, 5 provinces, and 8 countries. Multi-year data, not one-season snapshots.
IRF verified the results independently
The Irrigation Research Foundation in Yuma, Colorado is not affiliated with the manufacturer. Their multi-year yield and water studies confirmed the performance data independently.
Growers with 20+ year track records
Stan Evans has used APSA-80 for over 20 seasons. When a grower reorders for 20 consecutive years, that's not marketing — that's demonstrated ROI over time.
The cost is almost too low to argue about
$2.04 per acre for APSA-80. $9.76 for Nutriplant AG. A full program at $11.80 per acre breaks even at less than 3 bushels per acre improvement on corn. The data shows 17 average.
180-day guarantee with no fine print
Full exchange or refund. 180 days. On every product. I've never had another input company offer anything close to this — it's the clearest signal that the manufacturer stands behind what the data says.

My Approach

A conversation,
not a sales call.

Step 01
You tell me about your operation
Acreage, crops, state, and your biggest input challenge — whatever is on the form. That's enough to start. I'm not going to cold-call you or add you to a mailing list. I respond personally within 24 hours, usually the same day.
Step 02
We look at the IRF data against your operation
Using your acreage, crop or turf type, and local commodity price, we walk through where your situation likely falls in the IRF research range. I'll lay out the cost math line by line, with every assumption visible — soil type, current compaction, application timing, expected response. If an assumption doesn't fit your operation, we change it.
Step 03
You teach me about your operation, too
A 10–15 minute call where I walk through the research most relevant to your soil type and challenge — compaction, irrigation efficiency, spray coverage, yield gaps — and ask what you're already doing that's working. You know your operation better than I ever will. I'm bringing the research; you're bringing the field knowledge. Both matter.
Step 04
You decide — no pressure, ever
If the math works for you, I'll walk you through placing your first order. If it doesn't fit right now, I'll tell you when it might make more sense — pre-season timing, a specific challenge coming up, or a different product mix. You won't hear from me again unless you want to.

Get in Touch

The best way to reach
me directly.

The fastest path is the consultation form on the home page — it gives me the context I need to respond with something useful rather than a generic reply. But if you'd rather call or email directly, those work too.

I'm available during normal business hours and check messages throughout the day during growing season. If you leave a voicemail, I return calls the same day.

If you're a municipal grounds manager, city parks director, or public works superintendent looking at your spray program — same process applies. I have a specific approach for municipal accounts that's different from the farm consultation. Just mention it in your message.
